hmm.. Then why do MR's require a special fluid poured into the diff that's 3 times more expensive than the regular diff fluid that all the non-MR's use?

MR's are 6-speed, thats why i asked why the MR diff fluid is more expensive if its the same exact diff as the one on a non-MR (5-speed)

Okay, lets start over. I assume we are talking about the rear differential all the way through this thread??????

"hey guys, just wondering, is there a difference between the MR rear diff and regular IX rear diff? thanks"

same

"how about between IX and VIII? still the same?"

same

"hmm.. Then why do MR's require a special fluid poured into the diff that's 3 times more expensive than the regular diff fluid that all the non-MR's use?"

uses same fluid

"MR's are 6-speed, thats why i asked why the MR diff fluid is more expensive if its the same exact diff as the one on a non-MR (5-speed)"

uses same fluid

The expensive MR fluid mentioned goes into the trans not the rear Diff it is meant for the MR's 6 Speed but can be used on the 5 speed cars as well.

Rear Diff and TC in all EVO's take the Standard Diaqueen LSD SAE 90

I think you are confused about where the rear diff. is located. It is in the rear of the car and drives the rear wheels. It is the same in all American Evos.
Uses the same fluid, GL5 75/90. The manufacture lists the same for all models.

EDIT EDIT EDIT
SORRY, I started typing before the last post and got distracted. Glad you have it figured out.
