I like to squeeze the top and bottom radiator hoses, it helps remove the trapped bubbles

alot of times its air bubbles through the heater core circuit that needs to get burped. If you are having issues burping the air out, then you can put the front end of the car on jackstands to make your radiator the highest point and make it a bit easier to purge.

Did you install slimline with the radiator or kept the stock fans on there?

Stupid mistake I made before. I installed a new aftermarket radiator with a slimline fan. When I wired it up, I wired it up back word's so when it would kick on it was working against the wind so it caused it to over heat.

If not, another obviously thing(as everyone else has stated already) it would most likely be air in the cooling system.

best way is to put car on a ramp, then idle the car with heat on full blast. open the radiator cap and fill it up to the top and also the reservoir. soon engine will reach operating temp, hot water will start circulating through the block and heater core inside the cabin.

watch it and it will bubble and water level will drop within 5 minutes. top off alilttle more when you dont see any more bubble then cap the radiator... now wasnt that easy?

now besides mishimoto, could be coincidence your thermostat is dieing but doesnt sound like it from little info you gave us.

Sounds like a Tstat sticking, or an improperly bled system.

OP, did you check for leaks anywhere in your coolant system?

Most of the time this occurs the system needs to be burped.
