Thanks all for the help. I got a big list + that link you gave. Going to go ahead and ignore this Evo and look for soemthing else. I might just go ahead and buy a new one since buying a used performance car has the potential to end in a bad way. I just like the looks of the IX vs the X.

I'll look around for a few more weeks and see what I can find. If no promising IX's come up, I'll just get a X.

to the OP, good luck finding a evo personally love the IX look but the X are growing on me, maybe the same effect on you if you look at them enough

you should search but here's so quick advise, there are too many good evo's to mess with a wrecked one, especially at that price. Also if your gonna mod a lot (or any really) I'd steer clear of mr's due to tranny issues mentioned. If you like mr's that much find a gsr special edition, all the mr's flash without the 6speed. Syncros are notoriously known for going bad so do some quick high rpm under boost shifting and see if any grind, particularly 5th gear on a gsr.

Try to haggle the price with them. I bought my IX for $22,500 with 32,000 miles on it, in VERY good condition.

Also, when you're new on the forums, try not to be a d!ck. You have to understand that members on these boards see this EXACT same thread about twice a day. You should expect a terse reply.

I once had a salesman tell me an evo 8 mr in their lot was the fastest car in the lot and could do circles around anyother car (had like evo x mr's ect in the lot). he claimed it had over 400whp and i asked him what was done to it? He said nothing, its stock. Its the MR model thats why its so fast. LOL He even told me someone had bought it and returned it for a regular lancer because it was too fast.

I went and test drove it today. I had a list of stuff to check that I got from this thread and from the link someone posted. Everything checked out. I spent about 20mins going over the car. The salesman ended up walking off while I was checkign it out and told me to let him know when I was done. The price was 23,995 I talked them down to 21k. I haven't signed anything yet but I'm suppose to tomorrow.

I thought 21k was a good. The car ended up being alot nicer and smoother runnning than I had anticipated. I'm going to recheck a few things again tomorrow just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Hope all goes well.
