Mitsubishi why have the ACD?

I just want to see how many people actually use there Tarmac Gravel snow! Seems like Mitsubishi didnt need to be putting this in the cars. im sure the ACD isnt cheap for them to make and they had to pass that expense on to us.

I have had 4 evos i love them i drove my first one in the snow and i didnt use the snow mode much at all. Seems like they would have been better off instead of 50/50 Tarmac
60/40 Gravel 70/30 Snow

they should have done a 50/50 Tarmac 40/60 Race and left it at that maybe a 30/70

Just dont seem to use mine much wondering if others do. Let me know how often you actually use it.

And with out the pump, hoses...etc. you save about 35lbs off the front. Something to keep in mind if replacing your center diff.

The ACD DOES NOT change the torque split. It's more of an active LSD in which switching the settings changes the clamping force as well as how long before it locks. You use it more than you think, unless you don't drive aggressively at all. At the track, my ACD makes me look like a hero.

IMO, you can ask that for just about any extra features on a car.

^^^I was about to add my .02 regarding the torque split statement. Well said !!!

I have a "Know it All" co-worker telling me the EVO was basically a front driver w/ some rear assist. I politely hit him over the head w/ the ACD thread
