Curious about why the car was dropped off (what work was to be performed), why were they closed for an extended period of time and not returning messages.

The car was dropped off to have the transmission pulled and sent to Shep to replace the transmission casing and to have a street strip done, then once fixed shipped back to the shop and put back in the car. They moved shop locations in the midst of me dropping it off, but assured me that the work would be done with plenty of time for me when I got back.
Apparently they had difficulties with their phone system and were unable to answer calls or hear voice messages. Hopefully they just delete my 9000 voicemails....
Now I still need to have this done but am increasingly unsure of where to go to do it...

I don't think I'd make a 20 hour round trip plus two plane tickets to have that done.

Yeah, it's not worth the 10 hour trip and airline tickets. That's stupid. There must be a shop closer. It doesn't have to be an evo only shop. It's just a car, not like you're having a major surgery done to your body.
