Boosting question

I'm not exactly what forum I should put this in..but here goes! (Yes, I did search but couldn't find anything close enough to my problem.) I have a 93 Evo and I have a HKS EBC installed, when the car hits 0 boost with the BC on the car jerks a little bit...and then when it gets passed .6 and up to .9 the car starts to jerk again. When I have the BC turned off it still does it but not nearly as much. I looked at the hoses and I can't see any leaks, I replaced old spark plugs with brand new Denso Iridium, new fuel filter...doesn't seem to help any! Any ideas?

well i think your readings might be wrong, i'm not an evo expert, but it sound like a fuel cut, which is initiated by an "overboost" or too much boost......

I just looked at how the previous owner of the car has the vacuum lines setup...I don't think they are right. He has the little air filter almost halfway to the engine when they arent supposed to be more than 3.9 in from the EVC box..and that same line has no vacuum at all (it connects to the wastegate - is that normal?)

I don't have a tester but I put my finger on the hose coming from the wastegate and didn't feel anything

well pressure should be sent to the wastegate from the controller. hence the name wastegate.

So there wouldn't be pressure until after the turbine was spooled?

shouldn't be, on mine, the vac line that goes to the wastegate, comes off the closed side of my MBC, so until that ball pushes up and opens that side, i wouldn't see any pressure on the line....

Would those hoses being messed up in anyway (including those air filters) cause the problems I described?

yes, if your EVC or boost controller isn't connected right, your probably over boosting

Sounds like the problem, I know the over boost light turns on as soon as it goes passed 0 :P

hence the temporary loss of power, due to the ECU, i'm assuming since you probably have an evo II, that mitsu incorporated this feature back then
