Changed Battery = Stalling Idle
All,
I have 2003 Evo 8 with 90k on the clock. It has mild mods (272 cams, turbo back exhaust, intake, fuel pump, buschur boost controller, and Buschur dyno tune)
Recently as it has become cold, the car has been starting slower than normal. The original battery had been in the car up until this morning when i had to have a jump to start it.
I took it to autozone and had them throw in a $70 dollar battery. While changing the battery, we plugged in the power support at the OBD2 port like normal to keep the car charged and to ovoid any surge once the new battery was in.
After installing the new battery, the car fired right up, but then immediately died = / Now every time I try to start the car, it immediately dies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car hasn't ever had this problem.

I've heard that if the ecu looses power, initial parameters would need to be sorted out by the car itself. That may be poorly worded, but how long can this take? Minutes? Hours?
Thanks again for the speedy replies.

You would have to drive the car through several cycles (i.e. starting car, driving for about 15mins, turn the car off, repeat) It could take several days if you only drive it once a day.

turn it on give it just enough gas to keep it from stalling. Also cycle the heater to full defrost to load the system. That might kill it a few times. Also drive it around. Basically your ecu needs to relearn trims.

Yep, completely normal. Try to drive around tonight doing a bunch of stopping and going, it should clean up fairly quickly, maybe 20-30 miles.
