2003 HVAC Issue?
So, I have done a search, but the info is fairly limited...
Let me keep this short.
The HVAC issue in the Evo where the temp knob gets stuck on one side or the other...
Is there any easy fix (short of replacing the entire console unit)?
There is posts about this being possibly fixed by the dealership, if anyone knows anything about this, are we talking warranty (which I am obviously outside of) or "recall" (fix for free)?
Please help. It is winter and I need to defrost my windows!

long story short, either you can pull apart you dash, or the dealer can. odds are if you have no warranty, you're paying cash. you can move the knob by hand if you turn the knob manually by your right foot. otherwise if its broke you're pretty screwed.

Yep, there's a TSB out for it, but my dealer even said that it only fixes it about 50% of the time. They said they have a few Evos that come in at the beginning of Winter and beginning of Spring to have it turned manually.
P.S. I got frustrated and ended up snapping off my temp. knob. It sucks, but at least now I can turn the knob with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

its under the dash the levers is the "knob" on the a/c box that they are reffering to you can pretty much reach it while sitting in the drivers seat its kinda behind your a/c under the dash center of the car up by the firewall

This is the exact issue I have. I realized the issue was in the door itself when I removed the cable and the knob turns easy. I even greased the gears with no results. What a pain to take out the HVAC.
