Perhaps mishimoto is just beginning to make an intercooler specific for the evo...who knows...

I found this exact thing yesterday and really didn't bite on it...guess I like things to be non defective if I buy it...plus I wouldn't want to have to deal with either painting it or finding a solution to fix it...

Cant imagine not being able to get paint off with various available products on the market. Hell 6 months of driving will likely take most of it off

FWIW I just checked the mishimoto website and they have an evo IC, and judging from the pics on the ebay listing, both IC's look the same, so I think it's legit.

Toyo makes the oem Evo intercoolers, at least on the 8's anyway.

If you go under the seller's profile, he sold an intercooler recently to "hondaeg84" (Unless, it's someone from EVOM!?!) I'm tempted to message the buyer and get some info. He left positive feedback: "super fast shipping. fit like a glove thanks"

Chances are it's Mishimoto - look at the user ID history

From mishimoto "Yes, this is a legitimate Mishimoto product. However, as the eBay auction states, this item does not come with our lifetime warranty. Just so everyone is aware, Mishimoto is not selling these products directly."

It's funny how in 09, the name was Mishimoto. Also why would this customer/wholesaler have all these open box mishimoto products at 50%-75% off? The margin is not that good.

That's not a bar and plate intercooler. That's one of those delta wedge cores. I never knew if those were a marketing gimmick or actually performed better than your standard B&P or T&F.

Also, the core is about the same size as the OEM core. The tubes are pretty small on the OEM core. Restrictive, but transfer heat well. So, if that core flows more air, it probably transfers less heat, unless the "delta wedge" deal is for real.

And yeah. Aircraft paint stripper, soft brush, and power washer or a garden hose with some good pressure would take that paint right off.
