Boost creeping in 6th gear

Boost creeping in 6th gear

Evo mr with AMS, 3 TBE( high flow cat),k&n cone, custom tune, NO MBC, set to 23psi. In 6th gear when I floor it, it creeps to 26psi, what could cause this, the tbe??

The load on the car in 6th gear at lower rpms. If you put it into 6th gear at say 130mph, you probably would not see 26 psi..

if your boost is controlled by the ecu using a tephra rom i believe you can set one of the tables lower so your ecu pulls fuel sooner if you exceed certain amount of load. or you can set your CEL to flash if you encounter any knock ..this way you know to get off the gas on your low rpm wot pulls

Thanks for the info, I mean it should be fine since ams tuned it, just wanted to make sure.

Come to think of it, this summer, I would shift into 6th doing 80 or 90 and it would creep to 26...

stop flooring it in 6th gear

down shift if you need to be in boost 80-90 is only 3rd gear on a 6 speed, your making your car work harder then it has to

Are there issues with stock wastegate size when upgrading intake, exhaust, etc? Any wastegate porting required to keep it in check?
