Tial BOV & Stock Frame Turbo

I just bought a UICP with what was said to be a Tial BOV from a user on here (not going to mention name)... when i got the item, (despite being poorly packaged)... the pipe and BOV was in good condition...
Everything seemed ok... but when i look at the BOV i noticed that there were no markings on it at all... i looked up several Tial BOV and on everyone i saw, their markings were present... "Made in USA" "Tial" and product number... this one had nothing...
I was wondering...
do they rub off in time? d
id the seller lie and got me for a knock off?
and if it is a knock off, is there anyway to replace the bov for a real tial using the same pipe?

I was also wondering... With all the parts on my build almost complete... My motor will handle 700+hp rather easily... Im planning on hitting atleat 500+whp with the FP Black but i would like to know if there are any other stock frame turbo's out there that will yield me more power, or is the FP Black the highest flowing stock frame there is?

Thanks for your reply's in advance...

thats not a real tial
a real tial has the name etched in the top of the bov
and says made in USA on the top
it will not rub off either because its etched in the metal

like this

You should just be able to get a real Tial and swap them out. If its a direct knock off it should have identical dimensions.

Id try the knock off bov first before replacing it. I had a knock off greddy rs and it held 35psi fine and never had any issues with it for 2+ years before I got a differnt bov. Kinda got tired of the same sound and had to switch it up.

i wouldnt chance it with the knock off... jus gona look around for a legit tial to replace it with... can somebody explain the speed density bit?... i've tried looking up for some info... but all i could get was that its better for VTA setups... how do i go about changing setups?

Also does anybody have an answer to the stock frame turbo question mentioned in the original post?

What happens if you don't run a recirculating BOV? Flames? Can't imagine any other ill effects really...

Well, on an MAF RX-7 it only resulted in large flames on every high-rpm shift...

Besides running rich, youre going to have alot of drivability issues including stalling. Mind you thats metered air thats not going back into the intake.

Read the Question, Is the FP Black the Largest "STOCK FRAME" turbo and the answer is yes. The HTA35 is a smaller 35r with a stock bolt flange houseing.

Also Speed density is for those wanting to get rid of the MAF setup and when you VTA no everyone has stalling issues proper adjustment of a VTA BOV such as the Forge RS which has a adjustable spring knob will allow you not to stall but you will run rich unless you tune it out and thats just dumb lol. I ran fine with the Forge RS VTA "not by choice" but I did not stall once nor did I shoot large flames lol. I did however throw code P0172 which is Rich Conditions Detected in Bank 1 basicly to much fuel and the o2 could not keep up on the front o2.

I think the Knock off is the same as the real deal and should bolt straight over and to answer would you need a new pipe the answer there is no just would have to have a shop cut the old flange off and put the Tial on if it does not fit. I have a factory recuirculation Fitting on my ETS UICP and I am about to put a Turbosmart Race Port on it hole is 2" as the factory is like 1" lol. I had a Tial Q before and it leaked all the time. I had issues with springs it was a nightmare so I am going to the Turbosmart now which is larger then the Tial Q its a 52mm BOV and still falls in the class of a 50mm.

I am on Speed density and I love it. Its a pain at times and just have to be patient but the overall driveing is 1000000 times better. The MAF give Boost Buck as you come off boost and clutch in the jerk you fell hate it and with the Speed density I dont have it. It also shift and goes into boost much faster and I stay spooled allot better between shifts.

The last thing is that you need a tuner that feels comfortable tuning speed density, I can tell you my setup just PM me or you can buy AWD's setup on their site but mine is the cheapest and does not hurt anything and no its not ghetto rigged lol.
