Tuning yourself will cost you around some time and ~$160. There is a step by step available now here http://evoecu.logic.net/mirror/merli...GUIDE-V1.6.pdf. Tuners would like you to think it is rocketsurgery but it ain't.

get your first tune as a PROTUNING shop and then also get what the above poster posted so you can see how your car was tuned for what you have, i would not recommend tuning yourself (dont know how deep your pockets are but if you dont care on buying a new engine by all means go for it) try iveytune there a good shop and can get it done the same day most likely. its worth the 450.

So you are implying that self-tuning pops blocks? Small changes = small mistakes, learn to control yourself and you will be fine! $450 for the first and what if you would like to tune say some 100 or E85 or 87 just to mix it up, $450 or $450+$100 per alt gets pricey.

Street or track tune yes. If you want to be the queen of dyno's then a dyno will be required...

I agree, I'd gladly rather cough up the 450, especially for something I have no experience with. Hopefully I can get it done while I wait there.

they most likely can do it the same day prob within a 4 hours max, i believed it took them about 2 - 3 hours to tune my car... dont remember though. its def well worth the money. i just got tuned there and my car runs pretty good although my dyno sheets the curve is all spikey idk why...

lmao i get what your saying trust me, but I just want it to run right and then I'm not touching it again, no race gas, no more engine mods, I'm happy with the power it has now.
