2.4 block,what crank?

2.4 block,what crank?

hey i have a 2.4 block now with a 2.4 crank,but i just spun a bearing and i figures since i have to replace the crank anyway,should i go with a 2.0 cranks?what is the actual differences?i can rev higher with the 2.0 crank correct?

shorter stroke=higher rev capability. there is also a 94mm crank which makes it a 2.2L.

2.0 crank (88mm) in the 4G64 makes a 2.1 (really 2.07) - this a a major rev happy engine

Depending on what you plan on doing with the car this can be either good or bad!

What kind of revs are we talking ( I am curious to see an actual estimated number)?

generally each 6mm step down in stroke is good for an additional 500 rpm.

basically then the only difference from going from a 2.4 to the 2.0 is ii can rev higher?i wont be losing anything?because now im fully built on a 35r but bcuz i got the 2.4 crank im only revin to 7500 n i want to go more towards 9k,which i can do if i put a 2.0 crank in??y do people evan bother running a 2.4 crank then

youll have to check clearances and possibly change rods and pistions were you running a stock 2.4 in an evo?

A LR2.4 100mm / 156mm rod can rev to 8650 no problems. Really no need to rev much higher. I absolutely love the power band!
