Power Inverters (Plug in not Hard Wired)

So I was wondering whom might be using these? I've got an epic road trip from WA to GA coming up and will have at least one passenger along the way. Was thing about picking one of these up to run a Macbook or hooking up a PS3/XBOX 360 to my Navigation System. Any thoughts or concerns would be helpful.

Thanks

Steve

I got a cheapie one from harbor freight, I used it in my other cars even before I got the evo. It's pretty nice but in my mom's car would blow the cig lighter fuse so it would be better just to get a cheap female cig lighter socket with long wires that you can run to the battery or a good power source, especially if you want to run an xbox or something that would draw a decent amount of power. Coulda been cause mine was just a cheapie but doesnt hurt. I remember one time my friend got the kind that looks like an amp and we hooked up an actual tv and playstation in his Jeep Comanche, it was pretty funny and it was back when no one had the skinny flat screens. But yeah if youre set on a plug in style get one with the highest wattage. If i was to buy another I would buy a better brand one, the fan in mine started making some noise over time and can be annoying until it "warms up" or if the radio is low you might hear a slight humming of the fan, nothing to crazy tho once it warms up
