recommended oil filter sandwitch

Need one of these for my defi oil pressure gague. Can anyone recommend a brand to get? I don't think defi makes one anymore or ever did or if they are all pretty much the same. Just trying to get a quality piece that fits right. Hopefully less than $50. Thanks

glowshift was the one I was looking at.

i run a sandwich adapter... i dont see a problem with them. it does sit lower then the filter by itself obviously but not by much. and with that the oil filter housing is nearly directly center on the rim so you either have to run over something that passes under the car without touching either rim... or you have to completely bottom out the suspension and then some to get the rim and tire to raise high enough that the motor tags the ground... i'm not sure if it sits lower then everything else or not. i cant recall... i'll go snap a pic realy quick i was asked to to take a video of my turbo anyway.

btw i run a gt spec paired to a moble 1 filter that i ordered from modern auto. when i first installed it i thought i had a leak... but it must have been spillage from the oil change cause i havent had a drop since.

Yes, BUT those adapters that were used in that thread are the wrong thread pitch (they are close and you can run them in, but thats a very bad idea, nothin like introducing metal shavings into the oil system).
You need the proper thread pitch adapters from 42 Draft Designs here -

no that goes to the same plug as the turbo oil supply line by the look of the fitting...

to your other comment. the t fitting is used in the how to thread that was posted but thats extremely close to the axle... idk about you but i dont want a fragile high pressure oil fitting so close to my axle that a bump could snap it off...

i took the pics a minute ago... they are at an odd angle... my bad. but i noticed that the under brace sits lower... and so does my intercooler piping... as you can see the splash guard/ underpanel mount is just a tad higher which is what i based my underpanel comment off of... its about 1/3 of a inch below the oil pan... so if you clip something thats placed well enough to take out the filter... you're taking out your oil pan too... so guess the extra precautions of not running one didnt matter did they..

hmm.... so if I just got the AMS Remote Oil Pressure Sending Unit Line, it would connect into the the hole that was described in the posted thread? Would that line stick out as much as whatever they used in the thread as well?

yes.... mine has 3 ports... 1 i use for a turbo oil feed... you'd just use the other for your sensor... also you'd need a 1/8npt to -3an fitting...

I've used those before on 4g's and my oil pressure was very very low afterwards compared to before, and yes it was installed correctly. It was an eBay one. I will never run one of those again, but maybe its just the eBay ones that do that...

Yea that AMS line is the right pitch on both sides. Check one of the last posts in the thread I posted for the correct fitting to the oil filter housing, if you really wanted to buy your own fitting. Don't you brass though, just never use brass.

And what do you mean by the line sticking out?

I can confirm what others have said in this thread already. I did oil temp and pressure gauges last year and found the same threads and parts when researching/planning. I went with the remote oil pressure sender and 42 draft designs adapter. No sandwich plates needed on the Evo. Wrap threads in teflon tape, good to go!
