Fp 3065 turbo kit questions...

Hello guys!!!

A friend of mine has a new turbo kit Fp3065 (Buschur Racing) completly new in box.... He knows that I need a new turbo but Iīm ready to buy a new fp black. He told me that this turbo itīs very similar (not the same) to the black...

I search info about 3065 and theres cars runing 10 seconds and 500 whp with that turbo... But i now, depends of mods and tune, etc. The turbo kit its offers to $1,500... so he left me thinking about it, because black ii more expensive, but I donīt think that 3065 has the same potential of black... the pros for 3065 is here in my country and fp black is in the store still

What do you do in my case?

More than likely this is going to spark a debate. But I personally would go with the 3065. I'm partial to Garrett turbos. As well as the fact that its new and already shipped to you.

That being said, the black is going to be a higher potential turbo. If you ever want 600hp, you'd be pushing the 3065 a LOT and this wouldn't be smart.

But ultimately its based on what your intentions are with the car.

Yeah, Iīm partial too, but I want to go in the best way....

I preapre the car only for 1/4 mile... My goals maybe with luck are 500 whp. I want to run 10 seconds with my evo4.

I have a customer that made 570 dynojet HP with the buschur cast 7cm 3065. Stock cams, stock longblock. Hope that helps Track has not opened yet but it should be 135mph trap speed.

I ran the FP3065 on my old dsm and its a solid turbo! It should be able to hit your goal of a 10 second pass pretty easy. I ran 10.7 @ 140mph on it with my 2g and 100 shot. Add a lot more driver skill to my old car and it would have been pretty quick.

^With 100 shot and corrected to read like a dyno jet.

^The upgraded 3065 aka HTA 3082 with no nitrous. Regular dyno dynamics #'s, no corrections.

I'd be interested in buying a manifold to bolt the 3065 onto the evo if you or your buddy is willing to separate

I have personally logged the black to flow ~5 lb./min. over the 3065, albeit different cars and different cam, but same boost. Slight spool advantage with the black also. But I did notice the 3065 has the ability to produce higher boost levels at 7K+ rpms, but could have also been due to the use of external WG.
Heres a dyno vid:

It was a stock 6 bolt long block, with regrind cams, L19's, Felpro headgasket, SMIM, FP exhaust manifold, and e85. For what it was it made pretty decent power I thought.

Good luck with whatever setup you end up going with!

Very simple. From my past experience the black is good for over 600awhp and the 3065 won't get you over 600.

Really depends on your long term goals

I would go with the 3065. It will probably be more reliable and you have it shipped already! Good luck man!
