QUICKY: crank sensor & lower timing cover
hey.. well ive been searching and cant really find a answer or "how to" to my question on how to replace a crank sensor.. ive read tips here and there, but now im stuck
well this is what i have done so far to try and get the lower timing cover off or far enough to be able to get some wrenches in there to remove the two 10mm holding the sensor
i took all but one from the bottom 10mm bolts (6) holding the lower timing cover on
removed the serpentine belt
removed the serpentine tensioner
removed the crank pulley
removed the top cam cover
attempted to remove the water pump pulley but the pulley spins when i try to remove the 6 bolts holding the pulley on
i also noticed that there is one 10mm behind the wp pulley holding the lower cover on.. so thats keeping the cover on that end
TRIED to remove the idler pulley but the bolt is to long to pull all the way out and hits the frame rail so that pulley stayed on
not sure how to drop the motor on that end about a inch or so in order to pull the idler pulley out.. i tried to loosen all three nuts holding the passenger mount on and with a jack under the motor i tried to drop it a bit, BUT the motor barely dropped
any help would be wonderful
i can go out and take some pics if that helps

To get the water pump pulley off you have to jack up the pass. side of the motor to get a better angle on the water pump pulley bolts. You should be able to get it off if you hold the pulley with a big pair or channel locks to grab it. I've been able to hold most of them with my hand when taking them off. Then you should be able to get to that last lower timing cover bolt.

OKAY.... so to be clear, take your time and be prepared for some work, if you are unsure about how to do this GET HELP
i did mine alone in my garage with 20 degree weather.
your going to have to take much more off to get to it and depending on your setup, u may have to take your downpipe off.. you want to have wither an engine hoist or a good jack stand to sit the motor on and yes you are going to have to take off the water pump pulley. its a PITA but its the only way i could see doing it and doing it right,
the power steering pump needs the bolts to be removed and taken off to the side and the water pump pulley needs to come off also, the easiest way to get to all the bolts is to continually raise and lower the car to get to everything you need to get it off, u also need to remove the roller on the right side of the timing cover to get it off also.. And the crank sensor only goes on one way, make sure you run the wire up through the motor before you bolt it down

Always loosen the water pump pulley bolts with the belt still on (for future reference). You can also use two 10's, one to hold it, one to turn. If you can use a long handled wrench and hold it with your hand give it a whack with a hammer, it should loosen it just a bit but all that has to come off to do it right

thanks guys for the advice and help..
all i did was
remove the serpentine tensioner
remove the crank pulley
remove top cam cover
put jack under oil pan with piece of wood inbetween for protection
remover center motor mount bolt
jack up the car enough to see water pump bolts
took off the 4 10mm bolts holding it.. while holding pulley at the same time
took off all the 10mm bolts holding lower timing cover
and WALA access to the crank sensor
2 10mm bolts holding that btw
and reverse
NOTE:
make sure u mark the sensor to make sure you dont install it backwards (real easy to do)

im at this point but I cant find a way to pull the sensor around the around the power steering pump. I've tried pulling the pump off but top bolt head is stripped. How did you pull your sensor out?
