Im mostly doing it to reduce weight off the front end as much as I can. I have been thinking about whether or not to keep my a/c, but after owning the car over a year I only turned the a/c system on 3 times. Twice just to make sure It still had refrigerant in it still.

So I installed my a/c delete belt, verified it worked ok and had an appropriate amount of tension. All was good so I evacuated the a/c and removed the compressor, high side line, and the a/c bracket. I did all this after I got off work and just got home from doing this. Next time I get a chance Im gonna finish getting the rest of the stuff off, low side line and condensor.

Just a heads up, there has been some incorrect info on what belt to use, its not a 5 rib belt, you will need a 6 rib belt, the napa part number is 060569, its 57 7/8" long.

$28. I get a discount from our shop, prices may vary depending on area though.
The evo does feel more nimble on the front end and feels really smooth. There is soo much room now with the compressor and bracket out of the way.

newbie here

So my ralliart is making a weird knocking and smoking and sparking from my ac condenser so I plan on just removing it. I was curious if this belt is compatible with the espoused and if not could I be redirected to a faq or info on my car? Thank you for any advice or help given. It is greatly appreciated.

now that its 3 years since you installed it, would you still recommend this belt? or at least this length? Appreciate the feedback.

Reason why I ask is because my belt tensioner doesn't seem to apply enough tension even at idle allowing the alternator to skip (guessing at this point due to voltage drops!) and also impacting the water pump performance (over heating at times). I do see that it adjusts itself while idling and when this happens the engine sound changes. More or less similar to voltage drop effect on engine noise at idle.
I do have the AC deleted and I am using a shorter belt from a reputable shop but never measured it to confirm.
Thanks for the feedback!

edit: While performing WOT pulls, I experience a drop in voltage to almost 10v and its leading me to think that this maybe related as its intermittent.

It would be interesting to measure your old belt when you replace it and compare with the gates one I listed above. Some of the parts stores have a belt length measuring device, usually up on the wall by the belts, too so that may make it easier if your already there to pick up a belt.

Sounds like your battery is going bad too, or you have some dirty connections. the battery should be able to keep it at 12v.
