Gates products are good. I have a german made water pump on my Evo. If I can't afford oem at the time, I'll gladly go with Gates.

I got the one from napa to, seems to work great. It comes in a napa box but the pump inside has gates stamped on it, I asked the person at napa and they said it is made by gates and they sell it under their name.

Gates pump works fine on ix, just doesn't have the back alternator bolt hole, for the alt support bracket. I have the gates pump on my ix

So do you just not use the alternator bracket?

No, i reused the alternator bracket, there is just no bolt for the water pump if you use the gates. The bracket still holds the alternator to the head/intake manifold.

Yeah there is currently no aftermarket pump for the IX... I searched for days. I ended up just getting an OEM one because I wanted that extra mounting hole there.
