why is there coolant in my catch can?
so since buying this car iv been mostly fixing whatever i could find wrong with it.
a week ago i changed the oil and didnt notice anything weird (like coolant coming out first). i also put new seals in the oil cooler, since that was leaking.
today i put the car back on the lift to check the oil leak and i drained the catch cans for the first time and CLEAN COOLANT came out first..
now i am aware of a cool leak at the thermostat housing in the same area as the cans.
my first thought is head gasket... or could the cans be picking it up elsewhere?

I get that sometimes too. During the winter when I baby the car when I drain the catch can its a clearish gold/orange liquid. Its vapors mixed with a lil oil and gas which gives it that color. During the summer after track or heavy driving its more heavy oil and black crap that comes out.
