Mobil1 EP 10w30 Summer / 5w30 Winter with either OEM or Mobil1 Filter. Daily driven and changed every 5000 Miles. Have used Mobil1 filters on several cars over the years without any issues.

Amsoil 10w-40 with OEM filter. I'm going to be going back to Amsoil 5w30 because my lifters didnt tick with that weight.

I accidentally bought a case of Mobil 1 5w30 instead of 10w30. Is this ok?

The first number is the viscosity when cold, so it is the same when warmed up (30w and 30w)?

Oil is not designed to increase HP. It is designed to lubricate, if your depending on oil to make a few extra HP just turn up the boost 1psi. I use mobil 1 10w - 30 108,000 miles stock motor no issues.

There's tons of different oil/filter threads on here and tons of awesome info on bobistheoilguy.com

From everything I read, if you're going to use Mobil 1, at least use the EP series, which stands for Extended Performance, I think. Also heard the same about RP breaking down quick.

I use Shell Rotella T 10w30 non synthetic when I'm doing a "rinse" like right after I reassemble a motor and plan on changing it soon, good oil but also cheap (average $13/gallon)
But normally run Shell Rotella T6 5w40 synthetic which is like $23/gallon, sometimes on sale for $20 at advance and like $11 for the non synthetic
But also have Amsoil 5w30 for it, plan on going to like a 5w40.

I only plan on using Rotella or Amsoil oil in the evo and OEM, or Amsoil filters, or K&N if can't get the others

I'm debating running Amsoil SSO 0w30 with their nonofiber filter for a full year, I'm at six months. I put less than 1000 miles a year on the car and don't drive hard, I maybe hit full boost twice a month. I'm running stock boost at 50k miles. The last 2 months of that will be while the car is shipped to the US. I don't want to have to order some more Amsoil to be shipped to Japan, my other option would be to run 5w-30 M1 which is availible on base. Also if I decide to do a track day within that year should I go ahead and just change it then?

Amsoil 20-50 with OEM filter. I was using a WIX filter, which I had no problems with, but for the hell of it I went to Mitsu to buy an oil filter and never realized how cheap they were, basically the same price as WIX. I just buy the OEM ones now by the case (12 per case I believe).
