IX Bumper Conversion Question

Hey All,

Quick question...

I have an VIII but I like the IX front bumper, and I am contemplating doing a conversion... I don't really want to spend the cash for a new OEM bumper and there doesn't seem to be any used ones available.

I am thinking about giving this a go, but I am a little concerned about fitment and the whole "duraflex" material and its ability to survive the mean streets of Jerz. Price is definitely decent at approx $340 shipped.

Anybody ever try one of these bumpers?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Personally I would either wait for a IX bumper to show up or chop the nose on your VIII. What color is your car, certain bumpers are of course easier to find than others...

Don't do it. I bought one from Ebay few months back that thing doesn't fit at all. The quality is horrible you need a lot molding and sanding to get it smooth for painting. I still have the bumper sitting in my garage collecting dust.

Thanks for the input everyone!

shrty10135, I sent you a PM regarding your bumper.

To everyone else, definitely let me know if you or anyone you know has a IX bumper that they want to get rid of/trade/etc.

Thanks again!

my opinion go with an authentic OEM 9 front, if you dont have the money just save til you have the extra bucks, or wait to find one on here used in the for sale section. i was very lucky when i got my EB 9 front from another member, it matched and came with all grils and everything. only thing was i had to drive all the way upstate to deltona florida to pick it up and im in ft lauderdale. but mos definetly dont buy one of those replica ones
