I had a 67 chrysler putting out 600HP with an engine I built from scrach after I blew the 383. and I LOVE That car, really really really fun scaring the **** out of your friends and girls, and cops. oh and the donuts burned the parking lots. =) I'd of kept it too if it didn't get 200miles per tank on 120litres of petro

300-350 whp is good enough for me....unless I was in my country (dominican republic) where there is no sppeed limit...and many tracks....then I would upgrade....but here in the states you cant use that power in the street.....in the long run...we all spent our money towards a car that IS NOT going to last forever....

i think its pretty good power stock, but i raced a Cobra the other day, won but it took a long time to get that top end, so im gonna have to say i am gonna go for 400+ hp because ya 147 mph was pretty amaizing but it took like a long time to get there as compared when you are in like an M3 or a Porsche Carrera 4S

Evo8 WHOA
Again you need to be thinking about torque not bhp to out accelerate an M3 or porsche etc etc...
BHP dictates top speed
Torque dictates how quick you get to that top speed.
The above is a basic breakdown of what they mean

I did 350whp so I can keep up with the Z06's, Vipers, and 996TT at the track. If I need more then 350 I will do the next step, I do have to say that this much power is a lot of fun and it's easy to control because it's all on boost. stay out of boost and you have a 150HP car that you can drive without any problems.

Well it kind of proves what I figured - mostly about bragging rights... My biggest concern is all of the knuckleheads out there that can't drive (and think they can) with 400+ hp. I would be shocked if even 1% of the members on this forum could really put 400 whp to use. Not a slight, it's just that the limits to exploit 400 hp aren't present in the U.S. outside of a race track. Good luck to those of you with small penii, uh, I mean more horsepower.

LOL, I think it's all about bragging rights. I mean who likes getting beat? I don't. Once I get my Evo I will be looking to make 300-350whp and will be very happy with that. I have no need for more. I used to have a 91 MR2 Turbo that was built to break records and all it did was break It had a full built motor, Garrett GT35R (600 + hp) entire fuel system etc...very long list and I only got to drive it 3K miles in the 2 years I owned it, so I learned my lesson, dont build a car that will not be reliable if its your daily driver, believe me if you start to double or triple the stock hp it wont last very long. Just my .02 cents
