Question 4g64 oil starvation?

for those out there with 4g64 block.. has any one had any oil issues?
i just had a 4g64 short block droped in and 300 miles later i spun a rod bearing.. i pulled the bottem end off and after looking at the bearings.. i have a suspicion that there might have been a lack of oil.. before any ask, yes the oil levels were not low.. at first i thought it was just the bearings..possibly they were the wrong size but if that were the case, all of them would of looked alot worse.. any information wold behelpful id like to get my baby back on the steets.. i just dont want to change out the bearings and later down the road somthing worse happens

There are a lot of 4G64's running around on this site with no oil starvation issues. Were you road racing/hauling *** from a deadspot (basically sudden high g forces that could've prevented the oil pickup from having any oil around it)?

Who put it together?

/\ I've built one of these without adding oil squirters and have not had any oil issues. It's possible your clearances were not correct from the get go. Good luck.

All I can recommend for that is an AMS oil pan and a Kiggly Racing HLA. You don't need oil squirters.

I added oil squirters and I have a Kiggly HLA. I will buy a AMS oil pan later this year.

I have the Kiggly HLA, stock oil pan, no squirters, motor has 3k miles on it. I'm sitting at 590 ftlbs of torque with zero bearing issues so far.

Sounds like the clearances may have been off. Did you have someone build the engine for you?

Sounds like a machine shop/builder issue
