Pics of my gauge install
Guys,
I settled on the SPA technique gauges as you can see here. I like them a lot since you can select the backlight, set peaks, they all have peak/hold functions and tons of other features you'll probably never use.
Now for the pics:
Just in case your eyes aren't that good, I'm using boost, EGT, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp and the always useless voltmeter. (Had trouble deciding on a 6th)
Good quality gauges with nice electrical sending units. A bit pricey, but when you consider it's about 150 or so per gauge and I get 6 in the space of 3, it's not that bad. The menu takes a little getting used to, but I like em.

The radio relocation kit is Mistu PN#MZ598263EX
They're not hard to read, it's just the flash on the digicam.
You can change the backlight from green to red to none. I find it's easiest to read them on the green setting. You can also change the backlight intensity.

Eh, to each his own.
I need to be watching everything at once since I do road courses and the programmable warning lights help. I didn't want to have tons of ricey pods everywhere.
The Defi's are nice, if you're into that show car thing.

Dammit! you beat me to it.
I ordered the same SPA Technique gauges just yesterday with the temps -- pyrometer, oil, water -- across the bottom. I also purchased a 42 Draft Designs (http://www.42draftdesigns.com/) countersunk triple gauge panel. It's meant to work with VDO gauges in a VW, but I'm hoping a guage is a gauge and a DIN is a DIN.
Was there anything unexpected about the installation?
Again, awesome choice!

Haha, you're too slow. :-P
I got the 42 Draft panel, but in billet aluminum. The holes in the panel are too small for the SPA gauges, so have fun with your dremel making them fit. It'll sure be easier working with the ABS plastic than that billet piece.
Regards,
Joe

Relocation Kit
I just called my dealer and PN# MZ598263EX seems to be the right kit, except that its a freekin' $70.00 . I'd pay $30.00 plus shipping, so...
where did you get your relocation kit from?
Nice gauge set! BTW do what color are the backlights for the guages?
Thanks,
jcnel.

He answered that in the same post that he gave the PN.
You may be able to find the DIN relocation cheaper elsewhere.
EDIT: When I look up that PN on mitsubishiparts.com I get the sports meter kit for $300+.
