Evo 8 to 9 turbo Swap Question

Doing an Evo 8 to 9 turbo swap...

I am going to purchase the FP Gen 1 Install Kit (see link: http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Lancer-TurboHW)

Using this kit, do I need any of the Evo 9 turbo's original parts - J pipe, oil lines, water lines, etc?

Any help would be much appreciated.

you dont have to buy the whole kit just a 9 j pipe that connects to to licp. everything else can be swapped over to the 9 turbo.

I ended up using an evo 9 J pipe and the water lines but the water lines and oil ive been told can be lightly bent to work just fine. the main thing is the j pipe cuz its clears the starter better.

Hmmmm... let me clarify.

I am purchasing a IX turbo from someone on this forum.... I was planning to purchase the FP Gen 1 install kit to install this turbo on my Evo 8... With that being said, should I make sure the seller includes any of the oringal oil lines, water lines, and/or the j-pipe (taking into consideration that I am purchasing the FP install kit)?

Or, is everything included in the FP Gen 1 install kit + the IX turbo (without the seller including any of the lines/pipe) enough to make the install work?

if i were you.. i would get all the lines.. although everyone says that you can bend the evo8 lines.. it would just be a stright up bolt up if you were to get the evo9 lines.. j pipe is VERY importain.. you'll see when you remove the evo8 turbo

Buy the new stuff. You have no idea what kinda condition the hoses / gaskets are in. Either way I believe the main thing is to get the 9 j pipe. Good luck.
