either its cuz ur intake is loud, or you have a vacuum leak on the intake pipe somewhere itself.. it should be somewhat louder due to increase velocity flow through the intake, however if air is gettin in the intake after the maf sensor that can also cause a noise...every intake usually has two nipples, one for valve cover vent, other is usually underneath the intake tube thats for your boost solenoid. check it over make sure its all sealed and tightened properly. good luck
