JM Fabrication intake

I installed a JM fab intake on my evo 8
now i have a very loud whisling sound(resonance) coming from the intake

is there a way to stop this sound as its damn irratating ????

Metal intake tube will make your turbo noticeably louder.

The sound is from the increased airflow. It will not go away.
I am also running the JMF manifold.

You should enjoy that sound. If it is irratating you should look into a none turbo platform.

i also have a jm fab intake mani and everyone is right the sound u are hearing is ur turbo is now free of that stock crap and its all metal its going to resonate the sound much louder u could u a different air filter try a box design there much quite'r other than that u did buy the best i actually got to meet jim my self in person and he is an awesome guy he knows his stuff and the amount craft'mans ship and time he puts into hi product is astonishing i for one will definitely be using him again he actually let me use his lift for 2 hrs to fix my car so i could get home what a swell guy and watching him weld is like going to a movie u really wana see and being hooked thats jm fab!

I know its normal from gys i have spoken to but it gets a bit much driving around town , so just asking if the whine can be made quieter

Try driving it with out the turbo spooling so much. Keep an eye on your boost gauge.

Thats why its irratating, you ONLY hear it under 2500rpm. driving or not, above that it disapears or you just cant hear it anymore ,

so basically on idle and just above you getting the whine/resonance thats noticeble, so sitting at a robot on idle these people look at you saying WTF is that

thats cause 10/10 threads i post in are completely stupid topics and couldve of been solved by searching. thanks for your concern though

problem is people take this stuff to heart. lighten up its a forum. i post helpful information when its needed

Please show me where this topic has been disscused before and i will delete this one if you see it as stupid
I did search the web and found zero items that would tell me if i could silence the resonance,therfor i asked here . In South Africa we only have about 40 or so Evo 8/9,s so information is sourced from forums like this. so sorry if this question come accross as stupid

i just think this is common sense.... maybe you dont know a lot about cars or whatever. thats fine. i wasnt saying anything in regards to you personally, i was just stating something to the noob who called me out
