+1 Since you are likely going to be replacing pretty much everything that would differentiate the 8 from the 9 anyways.

No the 8 was vandalized, I then did a build on a 2008 STI built by PL and tuned by John Shaffer. It made 461 AWHP at 27psi on a DOM3 and Auquamist with 93 oct. I was doing some data logs on it and testing and it caught on fire while driving. So i have stayed away for 2 years on the modyfing bug.

Okay so the IX is the platform to go with. I will be looking into 2.3 stroker with a good streetable turbo and methanol. I am just hoping this will be enough to be able to put the smackdown on a GTR. My buddies GTR is making 590 AWHP and 603 AWTQ on a Mustang Dyno. He has run it several times at the strip not using launch control. He is scared of busting the transaxle which is a 23k mistake and he is still running 10.6 at 128 mph. If i can get a daily driven IX to outrun this from a low pull or from 50 mph to 150mph i will be more than content. I know it sounds childish for a 41 year old to ask this but this has been a grudge thing me and my best friend have had since back in highschoo when i had a 85 Mustang Gt and he had his IROC Z. If this will not suffice then i might just have to buy a used GTR and BPU it. Just trying to avoid the GTR its expensive to service and maintain.

That's Awesome... the Classic Ford vs. GM fued lives on through Mitsu and Nissan. So how did that battle end if you don't mind me asking the off topic question with the what 5.0 vs LT1? Regardless good luck with the Build Boss!

My honest opinion I would go with a 2.4L and a bigger turbo than a black... I own a 2.3L and an FP Black that makes 575/513. Its a street monster but Im kicking myself in the *** for not going big in the first place (6262, 6765, ect)

If you're looking to outrun a GTR (which is a HUGE challange since they were built for high speed) they're fast in stock from let alone a close to 600 whp one.

I'd be getting a large Turbo, since you're running pump and meth and not E85 I'd go as big as a 6765 or GT37R. Built 2.0 (i'm a 2.0 fan) or LR2.1 and get HKS 4.11 gears put into the built 5spd that you're going to need. The 4.11's let you strech your legs on the highway.

Other then that your mod list should look something like this VVVVVVVV

MOD LIST:

EVERYTHING
