Boost Leak Test FAILED! HELP.

i tested mine without plugging the TB and everything held the pressure just fine. Only leak i had was a port hole on my Greddy Type-S bov. I think i remember something about if the pistons are in a certain spot it will go out the exhaust.

no man, heres probably part of your problem, even with the tb closed air can still escape past it...if you plumbing the tester onto the compressor inlet, usually u wanna cap off the uicp where it connects to the throttle body, now usually u wanna plug the vacuum line for boost controller, remove vacuum line from bov so it dont release the pressure, and put a golf tee or somethin in the pcv return line to intake...other then that sounds like what u did was mostly right...now gotta dumb question u did turn on the air compressor right haha just askin
you should be able to test the car exactly how its being driven

Thats what i assumed it should be. Thats why im askin y is there no pressure. Will take a long look into it and let u guys know what was the cause.

No need to plug off any UICP. No need to put motor at TDC or anything silly like that.
Likely if you cannot get pressure in the system Id look here first and foremost.

Actually you are pressurizing your whole system.
I have done many many boost tests and know that as soon as you apply air to your system you can hear it passing through the turbo.
If your not making it past the inlet then you nipple is not secured enough.
I'd chalk this up to user error.

And what if his throttle plate is stuck cracked open? If plugging the exhaust makes a difference, then it gives you more things to check. It's called troubleshooting.

if your throttle body is stuck open, you have other issues.....
and why not read his post where he says the car idles like a champ, obviously it wouldnt if the throttle body is stuck open
your not pressurizing the engine on a boost leak test. THAT IS CALLED A LEAK DOWN TEST. a boost leak is test is just pressuring the the entire cold side of the turbo system
i guess i been doing all my boost leak tests completely wrong. i mean even when CBRD did my boost leak test before they tuned it, they did it the same exact way i do them. they didnt plug my exhaust, they didnt put my motor at TDC and they didnt plug and lines on the intake manifold. they simply drove my car in the shop and put the tester on the inlet of the turbo, and they came up with the same exact results as i did when i tested it before i took it there. no leaks at all, imagine that

I didnt say plug the TB genius, I said plug the coupler that would attach to the TB on the UICP, that way your only pressurizing the ic piping and not the engine.
