Hi ,
I,m new to this forum so please forgive me if I,ve posted in the wrong place .
I have a Evo 8 which has a very high knock count on evoscan (the logs showing 38 max ) but this accures on part throttle or low load only ,even if the ignition maps are retarded and the afr is rich
Ive changed the knock sensor but have noted that when the knock counts are high I can hear very light detonation on det cans which i have bolted on a bracket next to the stock knock sensor mount
Its not changed by engine temp so Ive ruled out piston slap . Retarding the high octane map doesnt have an effect
The cams look ok and the engine isnt noisey
At 22 psi on full load there is a knock count of 4 max but my problem is that it is running on the low octane map on low load
Any ideas ???
