loud noise after 2k rpm

Just picked up the car a couple days ago and when it starts cold in the morning it runs good but after it heats up... usually about 20 min or more this noise gets much louder and only comes in after 2,000+ rpm... It sounds basically like a ticking or something is loose.

The noise is most noticeable on decel after 2k...

The car also seems to have trouble staying cool if I'm parked and keeping the revs up, the temp will spike and max out on the gauge but when I pop the hood no steam and the motor doesn't seem hot but I do smell coolant and theres nothing leaking. If I leave the car running I can watch the temp come back down infront of me, it actually comes down pretty quick.

My buddy seems to think a bad water pump could be the culprit... but I dunno.

I can try and get a better recording if you cant make out the sound... let me know.

anyone want to trade my carbon hood for a stock one??

I didn't hear anything specifically in that vid except you revving the engine?

I wonder if your thermostat is malfunctioning... that temperature issue is real talk.

Where do you live? Is your coolant up to the right spec?

apparently it was something major

the timing belt snapped while driving down the street not aggressive or anything... had to push the thing a mile and half across the cause way and then have it towed.

Now the big question is it totally ****ed?

The cam toward the front of the engine moves like a quarter turn then stops in either direction the cam toward the back of the car wont move at all...

do I have to rebuild the head?

ugh fml
