I always wanted a 350z since they came out, I then had some firsthand experience of what a stock Evo could do and suddenly It became the more responsible choice because of the four doors and awd it was a better DD

I saw 2 fast 2 furious. That sparked my interest. Then, a friend bought a IX MR, that I fell in love with. Bought my MR new a few months later. No other car on my mind. No regrets.

AWD was a must (sick of FWD understeer and terrified of RWD oversteer), capabilities surpass any other car for the same price. Also you could walk down any street in NZ and see a dozen legacys or WRXs.

Evo 6.5 TME (was getting a bit old for such an aggressive bodied car)
R34 Skyline GTR (needed 4 doors)

Used

Not one.

I really wanted a great AWD system and thats why I finally choose the evo... and the ability to increase HP easily..
I was looking at an STI and S4 at the time.....
Don't have any regrets anymore..... I did when my TC blew at 19K miles 100% stock

Saw one in college (2004) with roof racks and didn't want a Subaru. When I got my job in 2006, I took a test drive and left with it that day. Only regret was that I wish I knew how to buy a car I wanted instead of having the dealer sell me the car they wanted me to buy.

What made you decide on buying an evo?
My FWD SRT-4 was starting to get boring. Also I loved the Top Gear eposide with the EVO vs the Lambo. I was looking to get competivite in autox

What else did you consider when you were buying?
Honda S2000, 350Z, STi (- I actually test drove the STi but the dealer turned me off plus on the test drive it seemed the subaru was missing top end power.)
Did you buy it new or used?
Lightly Used

And do you have any regrets?
NONE

Playing gran turismo as a kid did it for me, I tried to buy one when they came to the usa in 03, but insurance price was gonna be too high at my age. Drove some hondas for a couple of years, took a ride in my friends ix mr, and it was a done deal. Got my WW ix mr, and sold everything else without ever regreting it..
