Mileage with E-85.

Hey guys, new to the forum. Got a couple querstions. For those of us running E-85, what kind mileage do you get in city/highway? Also, 5 speed/6speed? And just an average for me, is around 12-14 in town, and 17-20 on freeway. I have a 05 6 Speed MR. Also, my motor is stroked to a 2.4L (if my terminology is correct there). That should make me get worse gas mileage correct? Thanks in advance again guys. Appreciate it.

I get just under 18 mpg at 74 mph. In the city I only get about 10 mpg but that's because I lack self control

I get 25-26 mpg on 93 oct, so u getting 20 with e85 on a 2.4 is reasonable...plus because u bigger displacement doesnt necessarily mean bad mpg, you have a well balanced of power to weight ratio, so the engine doesnt have to work as hard to move the car around, compared to a 2.0....get my drift

O OK. Yeah I'm not doing too bad then. Mine is my DD so I just eat gas. Plus, my damn 6th gear is busted. Local tuning shop believes its my "slider." So my options are to fix it, $1300... Or replace the tranny. So I guess this leads me to more questions, possibly another thread but I'll start here. Should i just fix it, or replace it with possiblly a used ShepTrans tranny? Found a guy on here selling one for $1600. Debating that option seriously, but buying a used tranny always makes me nervous. Are the Evo 8 six speed trannies really as fragile as I hear? Car runs perfect, just shifting into 6th gear is very difficult in and out, so I just don't use it. Crusing at 55mpg on the freeway in 5th is getting old however..... Thanks for any advice. From a newbie like myself, it is much appreciated.

20-22 on E85 here. 70%highway.

As for that trans. I saw it in the FS section,my friend is eyeing it as he just lost 4th gear. You will need some stuff to convert it too from a 6 to 5 speed.

I would have loved a 6 speed to DD as I drive a lot.

Heck, talk to Shep and see what he says. But i heard turnaround time is now about a month because he is so busy.

That's not too bad. Better then a V8. Lol. and Yeah, I'm considering it heavily. I think I'm going to call ShepTrans on monday and just get their opionn/advice, biased as it may be. And I've been driving without 6th for almost a month now so another month wouldn't bother me.

220 per tank divided by 14 gallon tank is 15.7 miles per gallon. Unless you're saying you use up 10-12 gallons before filling up, then the math works. I heard that's better for the fuel pump.

I used to get 17.5 mpg, but since I had to put on a stock cbe, I'm getting 16.1 mpg. I let it get really low (use up 13.5 gallons), one time I used over 14 gallons (14.34 gallons).

How are some people getting 22mpg? I drive 75% on the highway and I can't get any better than 18mpg. I'm tuning cruise for 17.0:1 to 17.5:1. I guess I have a heavy foot.

i find it hard to believe that some people are getting 22mpg on e85. i did 95% highway and highest i got was 18.8mpg driving very conservatively and never on boost. on the city i average around 15-16mpg that's driving very conservatively. i got a ix gsr, cammed on stock motor and stock turbo
