It is normal to get a CEL when IC pipes blow off. As someone mentioned before, spray some hairspray on the inside of the coupler before clamping them down, the hairspray does an excellent job of helping hold the IC pipes together and preventing them from blowing off.

 

You are fine, don't worry about the CEL. Just drop by Autozone and they will clear it for you. Yes, invest in t-bolt clamps
