Evolution 7 speedo off
Hey guys,
Seem to have an issue with my speedo in my 7. When I'm going 100km it reads just over 110km on the speedo.
At 110km on the speedo in 5th gear he rpm is 3000.
Anyone know what the issue would be? Different gearbox and or rear diff?

Are you using GPS to determine actual speed? Depending on GPS, they can be a little off too.
Speedos are usually calibrated to display a little over actual speed, to keep the liability of exceeding speed limit with the driver and not "my speedo said 100 officer".My IX is actually at 100 when the speedo is 105 give or take. 110 seems a bit high for an evo.
Mitsi dealers should be able to calibrate them If you would like it closer or increasing wheel and tire diameter will bring it closer. My old lancer went from 10km difference at 100 to about 3km difference when I went from 15 inch to 17 inch wheels.

Cheers for that man. Yeah I thought 10km it alittle high. It has 18" wheels which I'm guessing could put it out a slight amount.
Any chance do you know what the rpm should be at 100km? Which is like 60mph?

No probs. 100kmh is precisely 62.5mph. No worries though, I'm actually from NZ too (Hamilton).
Going from standard 17s to 18s should have actually increased your actual speed in relation to your speedo, unless your tires have ridiculously low profile. I'm fairly certain (not 100%) that the evo 7 speedo is mechanical/analogue, I believe the electronic speedos were introduced in the IX. So it's possible its just gone a bit out in the last 10 years.
Not sure about the RPM sorry, got 6 speed. 100kmh @ 2500 rpm.
