sounds like it is unplugged under the car... had this problem happen to me, bought a new sensor and when i went to install it i noticed it wasnt connected... either that or the sensor is bad and you need a new one... hope this helps

I've had this problem before and the gauge itself was bad. It had shorted itself out im not sure how but AEM warranted the piece without an issue. I would definitely check the connections first though. There is a youtube video of a guy showing you how to determine whether it is the gauge or the sensor. If all of your connections are good you may check it out. You should be able to turn the key over and not start the car just to the on position and the gauge should start at ~14.7 and creep up to 15,16,17 etc and eventually have dotted lines. If not then there may be an issue.

check the pins behind the gauge. i had one pull out and the harnes shorted out or something. i had one in my honda and swapped the harness and it worked. i also could get it to work by simply pushing the pin back in but that soon became annoying
