Starter problem Please help
I have an 06 ssl gsr with 57.k miles on the odo. For some reason It will not turn over from a cold start with the headlights on. If i have the lights turned off the car starts up no problem. We had a very hot summer this year. I started having issues with the starter when the evo sat outside in the blazing sun all day. I had to pour a bucket of cold water on the engine block to get the darn thing to fire up a few weeks ago. It's cooling down and I am still running into this issue evey now and again. Has anybody had this problem?
I am thinking about taking my car to the shop but I am new to Madison Wi. If anybody knows of a good shop please post one up.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Well, maybe if u can decribe what actually hapens when u crank... do headlights dimm? U might have a bad batery, but u also might have an electrical short in conection to ur headlights. Take ur car to autozone and have them test the battery. If its good than also look at the starter. The headlight thing seems random, but could be an issue tho i kind of doubt it. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions about the battery. I got the car at around 14k and have never changed it, (at 59k now). I washed the old girl today and bumpbed some tunes with the engine off as I detailed. Could not start >. The car just ticks when i crank the engine and the headlights do not dim. Radio and dome lights come on no problem so I don't know if its the battery but I will have it changed. Should probably do it soon before I *** up my starter. Could it be the spark plugs? Unfortunately, i am parked like a dush in my garage right now cuz i wanted to get good lighting as I detailed. Sorry neighbors...
