Help with removing this stupid ****ING Knuckle bolt!!

I can't get this thing out for the life of me. The tip has been hammered so much its almost flat. I have NO idea why its being so difficult, when the other side came out effortlessly. I can't even turn the ***** without requiring a very large wrench! WTF is going on here? My strut is sitting loosely on it, and I'm able to jerk the thing around, theres just something INSIDE thats not letting it go!

Should I torch something?

I needed two breaker bars and let some freeze out sit on it for several hours.

There should be two options -

1. Jack up the wheel hub and unbolt the strut mount from the frame and lower it slowly. The mount should then pivot on the hub assembly and that bolt, it should slide right out.

2. Jack up the wheel hub very slowly and gently tap on the bolt end. Once you align it just right it should slide right out.

I've never had an issue removing those bolts.

Maybe it is bent?!?!?!?! Worst case just cut the bolt at the thread side and use a punch to move it out. And just buy another bolt. Good Luck.

This would be my suggestion as well

PB blast the hell out of it and use a sledgehammer on the side, Then replace the bolt.

Good idea in theory, but the issue is rust, not the weight of the knuckle against the threads.

Get a few pound short handle sledge hammer and a torch. Hammer that sucker to death and replace the bolt when its out. LOTS of high temp anti seize when you get it back on.

Drill a small shallow hole in the end of the bolt and apply the pointed end of an air chisel.

If the issue is rust then just turn the bolt gently back and forth clockwise then counter-clockwise. That should be enough to break it free right? Or can he not even get enough leverage on it to to turn it at all?

that looks like a camber bolt. It is not a straight bolt, it's like that on purpose, google it. It only comes out one way. You need to turn it a certain way and then it will slide straight out.

What I have done in the past is put an impact gun on the bolt while hitting the other side with a hammer...

I think the top bolt has a D shape to it, it is not suppose to turn, you probably wedged it by trying to turn it.

No. That isn't an eccentric bolt.

So I torched the F out of it, PB Blasted the S out of it, and continued to hammer my dick off, even after it started raining like hell on me.

I ended up calling a mechanic down the street from me and took it there, where he successfully air hammered it out. Tipped his guy $25 bucks and went on with my install. Best $25 I ever spent

Low and behold though, it WASNT an eccentric bolt like its supposed to be. Funny. Looks like Ill be replacing it soon, although my alignment is perfect without it...

Not sure why it wouldn't come out for me, it was even a ***** to tighten and loosen with my breaker bar. Oh well, its done now. Thanks guys! these spec-r's are not even comparable to my teins I replaced.
