Mishimoto Radiators

Mishimoto Radiators
well back in may 2010, I puchased a radiator and a slim fan from mishimoto..! In October 2010 I was at the dragstrip racing..! It finish my second when I get back to the pits I hear a weird noise from my engine. I popped my hood found the screws holding the fan motor onto the fan had backed out. I went to the local Kragen's I purchased new screws and put them in and the fan worked fine. I sent am email to mishimoto and never got a responsed back from them.
Last month the fan completely broke off, so I had them warranty me the fan. Got the new fan installed and drove my car for about a week. After a week of driving I start to smell coolant, so this I'm like WTF I pop my hood and I see coolant at the bottom of the tank. Luckally I work at Honda Dealership and I have access to tools. I cleaned off the coolant off of the radiator and used a blow gun to blow off all the access coolant. I performed a cooling system pressure test, after a few minutes we notice coolant leaking from the top of coolant tank. I contacted PAT@mishimoto and explained him the situation and sent him pictures of the radiator and where it was leaking from. Few days later Pat shipped me a new radiator. I recieved the radiator and installed it.
On to yesterday, I'm driving back from the Bay Area, get into town to the first stop light and I smell coolant. At this point I'm like WTF now. I get home pop my hood and find coolant on top of the radiator. I cleaned it off and didn't think much of it. Today on my to the gym and I pull up to the stop light I smell coolant AGAIN. I park at the gym and pop my hood what do you know there is coolant leaking from where the filler neck goes to the top of the tank.
At this point I'm not sure if I want to get another radiator from MISHIMOTO. I've had to remove the radiator 2 times within the last month, 4 gallons of coolant and all my time wasted addressing this issue.
Has anyone else had an issue with Mishimoto Radiators? Should I switch to another brand.?

Koyo or even stock is great, I've heard mixed reviews about Mishimoto radiators as they are made in China I believe, like where most ebay parts are from. I would go with the stock fan if possible on the radiator as I had a Mishimoto slim fan and it did not seem to generate as much air flow as the stock did.

I've been using a Mishimoto Radiator, Hoses and Divider Panel for the past six months, with zero issues. Just like the review from EvoM, temps dropped, fit perfect and looks great. Anything better (Toyo, CBRD..etc) will cost twice as much, and not worth it on a mild mod street EVO. If your tracking it, I would invest in a CBRD or a Toyo.

i have had my mishimoto evo 4/5/6 radiator on my evo for 3 years and/40,000 miles with no problems what so ever. I also have a mishimotor radiator on my turbo s2000 with no problems. I have also draged/autocrossed and tracked my car with no problems.

there is a pretty big difference in quality in our radiator and the ones mentioned here-
We build specific rads for our applications (we have 7-8 for the evo alone)..
not just mass production for anything out there

I've been running a Mishimoto Rad in my car for around 10k miles with no issues (knock on wood) but when & if it needs replacing I will calling Chad & picking up one of their slim rads, just like everyone else mentioned in this thread...

I'll bet if someone did test on this Mishimoto radiator it would cool just as well as the stock or maybe even worse. That’s China for you, cheap and poor quality. This is just my opinion and has no facts to back these claims up. Just going of the Ebay FMIC tests.

well to be honest i have the mishimoto radiator and cap, the only leak ive had from mine was the cap not holdin pressure anymore which was almost 2 years after i installed it, might be the same with yours thats why its leaking up top best bet clean off inside of cap clean off bottle neck, check pressure with the car off on the radiator, no leaks then its not comin from filler neck, then check pressure on cap see if it holds, thats my bet, but hey at least lifetime warranty coverage, right....
good luck
