Surge of flutter after installing hks ssqv
A friend of mine gave me his hks ssqv black edition.and said what the heck i should install it.after installing it i went for a drive around the block...im not sure of what im hearing, but i thought it was fluttering, so i went online and searched and read that hks ssqv flutters in low rpm..so what i did next is open the hood and revved it...when i went closer it sounded like it came from the intake, which they call compressor surge..
I searched what compressor surge is and from my understanding compressor surge is when u hear a fluttering sound while accelerating and the car is jerking around..
But those never happened to me
The fluttering sound only happens when i let go of the gas specially on low rpm like below 4k. But when i WOT, it makes the regular sound...
Is this good or bad?is there anything i can do?

honestly, my 9 metal bov still flutters at low rpms. its not install error, your not building enough pressure to move the spring in the bov for it to divert. a bov that wont flutter is one that works off the vacuum port. But in all honesty they all flutter. search on youtube, even the synapse flutters when they claim no compressor surge and all these other claims.
a weaker spring would help but then it wouldnt hold the boost. so iuno.

my stock 9 MR BOV doesn't flutter or surge. if yours is, you probably need to replace it. as for the synapse, I had it on my old EVO IX MR, and I never had any issues with it surging or fluttering except at part throttle in 6th gear SOMETIMES. if it's set up right, the stocker shouldn't give you any issues at all, and the synapse shouldn't give you many, if any at all.
