I love the performance of an fp turbo but its not durable.
Hence the reason for fixing the issue and upgrading their stock appearing lineup to to the latest technology. It will be MUCH harder to kill their BB turbo's than it was their JB turbo's.

Well price increases are ok as long as its better performance.

I stopped following fp after seeing so many issues with durability.

Maybe ill try an fp black after my pte.

I would have to agree on the price being high..... I would rather buy a ??? turbo and spend the rest on something else.

I think the OP's head would explode if he had a 04-06 RalliArt and his only option was the $4300 RRM turbo kit.

Dear OP,
You drive an Evo, so stop complaining.
At least FP makes a turbo for your car.

This thread is full of LOLZ. Clearly people are getting confused with Forced Performance. They are not forcing you to buy the turbo at $2500. It's still your option. If your opinion is that $2500 is TOO MUCH then that's fair However the complaining in this thread is not going to bring the price down on their BB turbo's. If they don't sell turbo's at that price then you would see a price reduction (not likely). I paid $2000 for the Red, I'd gladly pay $2500 for BB if this one fails on me. Pay to play.

I know the $2500 is just for the turbo, but as other members have said good luck putting together a kit for less than $3000.

$2500 for a bolt on BB turbo from a company who has a good record of warrantying their turbos is a good deal to me.

An evo is no bmw or supra tt.

Car can be had for 15k or less.

Same thing happened on s2ki broke people started to afford the car. Knock off of 1800.00 $ intake and 2100.00$ exhaust.

Its normal

journal bearings can be reliable, just not when you use an oem center section made for half the speed and mass of what most bigger stock frame turbos use. upgrade to proper bearings and they are good. borg warner has been doing it for years with great results.

It's a bolt on Turbo that can run 10's on 93 octane and retains twinscroll, what more do you want?

Nobody's forcing you to buy the turbo. You want to bring the price down? Stop buying the turbos. They set the price based on demand, it'd be stupid for them to lower it if people are gladly dishing the money for them.

There's plenty of other options on the table for a stock replacement turbo such as CBRD, MAP and if you don't mind turbo kits there's a slew of vendors pushing kits.

You can get a BW7670 in twin scroll that makes the same power as an FP Black at almost 10 psi less but it's going to cost you way more than a FP Black in BB. There are plenty of options available but if you want to make great power with great spool, you're not going to beat a Black at that price range.

Has anyone ever taken a JB FP turbo apart before? Are they actually MHI internal parts?

I'm just curious, don't kill me.

Personally, I can't afford a BB FP turbo. But, if I could, I'd rather pay another 500 and have a nice t3 kit.
