So whats the deal, results, feed back, ANYTHING? I can pick one up fully loaded for less than $1,500.
Or should I go green for over $1900 fully loaded?
Worth saving 400 dollars, stress on the engine, and turbo no turbo lag??

If it's a $400 difference, go Green IMO. Being that I have a IX, mine was only $650 to upgrade from FP but I did add the 84mm cover and just now ordered up an 18 psi wga for it since my stock wga seems to be dead at 24 psi, she gots' no more to give cap'n!
Anyway, in a word - OMGIluvIt. Seriously, it feels like a stock turbo, even with an S1 intake/S2 exhaust cam combo. I have no idea where I see full boost, but it's early and often. Running about 24 psi, tapering to 21 with the mods in my sig. VD reports 387 awhp. It feels stronger everywhere over the stock IX turbo. It's not a gigantic difference, but it is definitely noticeable. But, if I had to pay $1500 for it and could get a Green for a few hundred more? That's a no-brainer IMO. The major selling point of the HTA71 is the value you get for $650...

Ten business days after it arrived? ahhhh that's sooooo looonnggg
Yes I am getting an upgraded compressor cover and 18 psi wga. I'm going to just set high preload because I will be running e85 (can't justify $5/gal for california 91 pump anymore).

Since you will be running over 25 PSI peak boost level and as you stated over 24 PSI of spring pressure, then I would suggest the 25# actuator. I realize that I originally recommended the 18# unit but you would have to cut the actuator rod to run that high of a preload level. You are better off getting the 25# WGA right off the bat. Ratsbud has a 71 HTA and he is having a tough time setting spring pressure above 16# on his FP 18# WGA.

Gotcha. The only thing is that the tuner said 23-27 psi on e85. But on pump 91 it could be as low as 22-23. So would you still suggest running the 25psi actuator with no pre-load?

I installed one of these on my friend's car. His results weren't that great over an evo 9...lemme find his info real quick
He was at 350/360 on an Evo 8 RS at 30 psi on pump (made 30psi at 3600), HKS272 cams, ported hotside/o2 housing, IC, exhaust, intake. His car wouldn't take any timing or boost so something was going on. It wouldn't run better than the old Evo 9 turbo he had swapped it out for unfortunately. Probably not a good car to run a comparison against but you asked

Thats horrible. i made more than that with smaller cams on a 9 turbo!

Since you'll have dual maps each with a different peak boost level, you'll have to set WG spring pressure in the the 21-22 PSI taking into account the projected 23 PSI of the 91 octane tune. This preload level should be fine for your E-85 tune as well.
If you get the 18# unit you will end up having to cut about a 1/4" off the end of the rod to get it up to 21 PSI of spring pressure. If you don't mind tinkering and modifying it, then you can get the 18# unit. Just be forewarned that you'll have to chop it.
Spec Ops', Mikey runs an 18# unit on his high boost FP Black, 2.4LR setup. But I am pretty sure that he has had to take a hacksaw to the actuator rod...severe trimming.
