First time down the 1/4 mile

I've had my car for about a yr now totally stock, love it! Finally took it to the track for the first time for ****s n giggles just to see what I could do. I only recently had the ***** to launch it off the 5k limiter and slip/dump it once before the track for the first time ever, but i thought thats all i needed cuz it felt real good. I think i can launch it a little harder actually after some practice. Heres what I ended up with:

First Run:
Reaction .3128
60ft 1.9882
1/8 Mile 8.7976 @ 78.82
1k 11.4286
1/4 Mile 13.6874 @ 104.18

Second Run:
Reaction .4274
60ft 2.0250
1/8 Mile 8.7967 @79.65
1k 11.4181
1/4 Mile 13.6700 @101.49

And before you tell me its slow..... I'm 130lbs, Passenger was 170lbs (could definitely tell), both our backpacks, hoodies, some misc little crap in the back, and a 1/2 tank of fuel. I prolly could have wound the gears out just a little more. Next time ill go all out and have less fuel, no passenger, and clean the car out before I leave. Im happy with the consistency.

Bring on the criticism

I don't think that's slow at all for totally stock with a passenger. Even stock tune?

Yup stock tune. I haven't touched anything on the car, unless u count swapping the position of the radio & guages

Nothing wrong with that, good job. My first run was almost identical in every way, except it was only the 1/8. You're definitely bogging down or slipping the clutch too much with that 60ft. My second trip to the track, I got down to a 8.5 @ 80-81 w/ 1.8 60ft. 100% stock also.

not bad at all. Just need to focus on the launch. You can cut a mid 1.8 sixty foot and pull that down to a really low 13 pretty easily.

for reference, I went 13.7@99mph with a 1.82 sixty. Only on 10/11psi (wastegate pressure).

yeah, that's slow. you're losing time on your launch big time. I ran 12.82 @ 107.41 in my first IX MR when it was stock.

correct way to launch:

Put the car in 1st, Find the engagement point of the clutch by letting out the clutch until you feel it start to grab, then floor the gas. the tach will bounce off the factory limiter at 5000 rpm, keep the gas pedal floored and start to release the clutch slowly, when you feel it grab let go. you should do a slip/dump. be sure to keep the gas pedal floored until you shift to 2nd gear, then shift accordingly.

Heh, I have a hell of a time getting a good launch out of my car too. I've never had quicker than a 1.9 60'.

Though my trouble is feeling out the right point between bog and spin off the line.

+1 just work on your 60 foots and adjust ur tire pressure to help with the launch. Good luck!

No criticism here

I think you did pretty well, how did you launch it without bogging?
