Launched my car for the first time last night...
I had delayed doing it for the past 7 months I've had the car because I didn't want to break anything...
Welllll, after watching tons of videos of the Lamborghini Aventador... I decided I wanted a Lamborghini Aventador.
So I got in my EVOntador and decided to hold the gas pedal down until the revs started bouncing off 5800 RPM, slipped the clutch a little bit, let car start moving, and then TOOOOK OFFFFFFFFF... it was amazing... before I knew it the car was at 80 mph. Nothing broke... and it felt PHENOMENALLL... clutch smell wasn't that bad and went away after a few minutes. I let the tires spin a little bit but I think it was around the perfect combo of clutch slip + tire spin if anyone wants to confirm?
Just posting this for everyone who's thinking about launching their car... but doesn't want to break anything. I launched it once around 3-4k RPM just to see how the car reacts, how the clutch slipping feels, how much the tires spin on my particular setup. Then the first time I launched it properly it just felt natural...
Just wanted to say THANK YOU MITSUBISHI FOR BUILDING SUCH AN AMAZING PIECE OF MACHINERY

Stock clutch.
I'm getting an exedy twin put in next week so I'd rather slip the stock clutch than risk hurting the drivetrain/driveshaft/transfercase/etc. I did slip it for pretty long, I didn't have THAT much wheel spin. Probably could have slipped the clutch less and let the wheels spin a little more but like I said I wanted to make sure the drivetrain wasn't damaged.
Anyone know proper launching technique on aftermarket clutches like an exedy twin? Is it the same as stock clutch?
