M8, I'm not running E85, but I've had a walbro in my Evo V and it whined loudly. Granted, everything was stripped from that car from the front seats back, but you could easily and clearly hear it going. Over the exhaust, over the casual radio, over conversation.
When I got my IX, I was much more focused on having a 100% usable street car, and as such, I knew I wasn't going to go Walbro for that reason.
I ended up grabbing the DW301 (which they tout is E85 compatible, though I can't confirm nor deny that). But it sounds 100% stock inside the car. From the outside, you can hear a SLIGHT whine. But inside, nothing.
Haven't looked back.

i personally prefer the walboros whine, ESP over my gf's.
but yeah with the back seats on it dampens the sound, but my car doesnt have rear seats so i hear it all day but actually do enjoy it for some reason. And yes when i gets "hot" after pushing the car it'll get substantially louder
