MATH QUESTION. I need some assistance

so without me being able to customize the wideband formula in evoscan, I need to improvise.

MY formula for my particular LC-1 for an AFR ranging from 10-16.99 goes as follows:

[AFR = 10+.02745(x+2)] (personal)

I need the same output from that formula above to come out of

[AFR = 10+.02741x] (evoscan)

by changing the input of x slightly. Right now my Lc-1 is programmed for a range of 10-16.99, but it has an error which I have accounted for in MY formula. I need to compensate for that error by changing the range ever so slightly.

Ideas? calculations? i feel dumb

So you just need both of those formulas to be equal to each other?

sort of. the input for my formula is a 0-5v range in data bits of 50.6 per volt from 10-16.99afr, which breaks down to 36.45 bits per 1 AFR.

I need to adjust my input from 10-16.99 to say 10.05-17.05 or something to reflect the error that my formula takes into account.

Easiest way to do it is to map the variable. If you have low1 and high1 being the values you have and low2 and high2 being the values you want then,

X_new = (X - low1 ) * ( high2 - low2 ) / ( high1 - low1 ) + low2

Why cant you change your equation in evoscan? If you cant edit the value already there, you can create a new value to log with the correct equation looking at the same channel.

my windows 7 virtual machine doesn't let me edit the original data.xml for some mysterious reason. Tom fixed it for me by locating the XML and searching for the stock formula and then editing it
