I hate to make another thread about the transfer case whining but I didn't see anything like what I'm asking.


Hello there I have a quick question I have a transfer case that I bought from karking.com and it's built for 800 hp. The ring and pinion is the tougher steel and I guess it's a stage 2 or 3. My question is there still gear whine throughout the gears because its a stronger built transfer case? Before my old t-case whine was so bad it sounded like a jet plane. Now I have had this new rebuilt t-case for 3 months and from day one I've had a whine, it gets a little louder when at higher speeds but driving with the windows open I almost can't hear it, its no were as bad as before. So is this whine normal?

The people at the trans shop used the Royal Purple oil for it...... the bad thing is that i have the t-case on warranty from the place i bought it from but no warranty from the shop that put it on.

Seriously. I don't know what you should switch to since it's a built case, but OEM I know most people seem to run Redline, Redline Cocktail, Amsoil, or OEM

You should call the shop that built it. They should be able to tell you the type of gearing used and noise it would make.
