Freeze plugs suck.
So... I was cruising around last night and accelerated onto the freeway with a couple buddies of mine. At about 5k rpm's in 3rd I hear a large pop and what looked like all the cars coolant shooting through the hood vent. I pull onto the shoulder and upon further inspection realize the freeze plug from my water pump blew out. Two weeks ago the same thing happened to my buddy and he happened to have an extra. Very convenient. After two hours and some red loctite I go to fill the car with coolant and it pours out the front of the block. That's when I realize that TWO freeze plugs blew out simultaneously... I definitely don't want this happening again as it is a huge pain. OEM and loctite or rubber?

Hey man,
That stinks
Make sure you only use factory plugs. Use Loctite bearing compound on the freeze plugs. When you go to put the freeze plugs back in don't use a socket to hammer them in.
Make sure you are also running the correct 50/50 mix of coolant/water. If you run the incorrect amount this might be causing the problem (if there is to much water, the temperature will be higher and so will the pressure, causing the freeze plugs to come out).

Yeah pretty crazy. The same thing happened to my buddy last week; I just had to one up him and blow out two... I was able to replace both freeze plugs last night and jb weld them and let it sit overnight but when I went to start it this morning coolant was leaking from above the freeze plug but below my exhaust manifold and I can't see to pinpoint the leak. the overflow and top of radiator have no visible oil and I don't see milky oil on the dipstick. Does this sound like a blown head gasket? It idles ok, the belts chirp a little from the coolant I'm assuming, I'll definitely be switching those out. I want to take it to english but it's almost a two hour drive and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable driving it.

At this point, it does sound like a head gasket issue.
Do you have AAA? Have them tow it. I pay ~140$ a year for AAA Gold which gives you 3, 150 mile tows.

So I ran the car to try and see where it was leaking Coolant and checked my oil cap only to find milky oil. I just got AAA tonight, looks like the car is getting sent to English tomorrow Thanks for the offer man but the car isn't going anywhere on its own. It needs some major surgery. Haha
