Hi was just wondering when you switch owner what is the % that you pay for an evo8. I'm asking because here in Canada Quebec its 8% taxes when switching owners. Thank you.

 

Depends on the state, they all charge different percentage. Also depends what they go by to tax you; KBB price, NADA value, actual purchase price, etc. I only had to pay 3% and it was based on NADA value, if I remember right I payed just a bit over $300.

 

Okay if the car is registered in new york Albany , paid 13k , I shouldnt pay over 1000$ right ?

 

taxes should be about $1k usd based on the 8% rate (i think its actually 8.25%). be careful if the book value is above what you payed as they can decide to hit you with taxed on the NADA value if they think you underpaid for the car.

 

it should be about 1000 for purchase tax if they do purchase tax instead of nada/kbb, registration, fees and plates.
my 03 was. 850ish total with everything. 7.75% tax.
